Welcome to Shiloh
United Methodist Church
Shiloh UMC is Resuming our "Normal" Services!
With the guidance of the NGUMC Conference, The Relaunch Committee has fully prepared the church for Sunday morning services. Please keep in mind that anyone who has a compromised immune system should remain at home and continue to watch our service online. Also, please stay home if you are running a fever or if you are not feeling well.
This past Sunday, November 1st, was our last outdoor service in the mornings at the BBQ Pavillion - colder weather is upon us, and it is going to be too cold on Sunday mornings to continue. So, we will now be having just one service at
10:30 a.m. inside the Sanctuary! The service will begin this upcoming Sunday, November 8th, 2020.
You no longer need to RSVP for attending the In-Person service. If we are blessed with more than our sanctuary can hold while following social distancing guidelines, some of us will simply watch the service in the Fellowship Hall. You must still follow all social distancing guidelines for the In-Person Service. The guidelines include such things as the following:
how to enter and exit the church,
masks are always required (Newton County does have a mask ordinance),
no hymnals, Bibles, or bulletins will be available
no Sunday school classes or munchies
no congregational singing,
hand sanitizing stations,
which restrooms to use,
no nursery during the service
and the hardest thing, please refrain from any form of physical contact!
As Preacher Mike has said, "We will be doing church like we never have before, but God will be in our midst as He always is!"
Wonderful Wednesdays for Children and Youth will meet on Wednesday, November 11th at 6:30 pm. Zoom number will be posted on Facebook!
Tuesday morning Bible Study is once again being held in the Fellowship Hall for those who want to be in person and distanced. We will also "Zoom" for those who need to stay out of the public.

Change the World Event
Covington FUMC has scheduled this event for Saturday, November 21st, 2020, from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm. This will be a drive-in event only. We will be providing the green grocery bags and helping with the produce drop.
Important Message from Pastor Mike!
Thanksgiving Grocery Bags
Shiloh's Outreach Committee would like to reach out to those in our community who are in need this Thanksgiving. We are planning to provide a grocery bag full of the groceries needed for a delicious Thanksgiving dinner!
If you were not able to get a grocery bag at this past Sunday's service, please call Preacher Mike or Beverly Childs at the church and let them know - they will make sure you are given a bag!
Fill your bags with groceries and return it to the church on Sunday, November 22nd, 2020. We will deliver the bags on Monday, November 23rd, 2020.
Thank you for always going above and beyond to support our community!
The beautiful hand-made angels for our Angel Tree are ready! They just need
your names to be added to them. The angels were made by the Shiloh UMW and will be hung on the Christmas tree
in the sanctuary. For a $5.00 donation each, you can have an Angel with your loved ones name on it, either in "Honor of" or in "Memory of" them.
We will celebrate our loved ones in a service on Sunday, December 6th, 2020, during the 10:30 a.m. worship service. We will follow social distancing guidelines!
All names were supposed to have been turned in by yesterday, November 1st - however, if you have not yet done so, you may still turn them in this week! If you cannot bring your forms to the church, you may mail them in to 10 Almon Church Road, Covington, GA, 30014.
If you need a form, please call the
church at 770-787-1087, or e-mail
Ragen Cantrell at firstname.lastname@example.org.
